Dear Awbrey Park Families,
Hello! I am Suzie McCall, your school nurse. Keeping sick students home helps protect our entire school community, so here is a quick guide on when to keep your student home and when they can safely return.
Please keep your student home if they experience:
- A fever of 100.4°F or higher
- A persistent or significant cough
- Difficulty breathing
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- A new or unexplained rash
- Severe fatigue or feeling too unwell to participate in class
When Can My Student Return?

Fever: Students must stay home until they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.

Vomiting & Diarrhea: Students can return once symptoms have been improved for at least 24 hours.
What About COVID-19? We treat COVID-19 like other respiratory viruses. If your student has COVID-19 or another respiratory illness, please keep them home if they have a fever, a significant cough, are feeling unwell, or cannot comfortably participate in school activities.
