If your child suffers from allergies, please make sure that we have a note from your medical provider.  Our School Nurse has contacted any family that we have previously known about to make sure we have the proper documentation.  If you are new to Awbrey Park, please check in to make sure we have documentation from your medical provider.  If you have any questions, please call our office at 541-790-4050.
Students must wear face masks when attending school.  Gaiters or bandannas are not allowed.  Here is the wording from the 4J School District COVID 19 Communicable Disease Management Plan. “Face covering means a cloth, polypropylene, paper or other face covering that covers the nose and mouth and that rests snugly above the nose, below the mouth, and on the sides of the face. Face coverings with valves, and gaiter or bandanna type face coverings, are not permitted. Clear face coverings and clear face shields provided or approved by the district are an acceptable alternative to regular face coverings under limited circumstances where and when appropriate. The general use of clear face shields instead of regular face coverings is not permitted.” Please let me know if you have any questions.

Arrival and Dismissal – To keep students safe and healthy, we’ve had to change our drop off and pick up routines.  Once we start Hybrid, school hours are 8:45-1:45.  We will open our doors at 8:30.  Student will go immediately to their classroom.  Families can’t drop off students before 8:30 since we are not able to supervise them.

We ask that all parents stay in theirs car when they drop off or pick up.  This will occur behind the gym/cafeteria in the same area where we do the supply pickup.  There will be staff there to direct students where to go whether they are dropped off or a walker.  If a family walks to school, please have your child join their line when you get close to the front of the building.   Again, staff will direct you.  At pick up, families who are walking will either meet their child on the sidewalk on the north side of the building along Spring Creek Drive, or on the playground.  We will need the area in front of the office area clear so that bus riders can keep 6 feet physical distancing.  Students will not be able to play on the playground after school because of concerns of staying socially distant and not staying in your cohort.

Students will enter the front of the school through the gates and walk to their classroom door.  A staff member will be stationed at each gate to welcome students and to do a visual check for any signs of illness. Students will use a hand sanitizer. Students will walk directly to their classroom where their teacher will meet them. Any students showing signs of illness will be walked to the office.

Breakfast & Lunches – All students will be provided with a free breakfast and lunch, which they will eat in their classrooms. For breakfast, students will pick up their meal upon entering the building and will take it to their classroom. Lunches will be brought to classrooms. Students will eat meals at their desks and are allowed to remove their masks and quietly talk while eating. All meals are supervised by their classroom teacher.  If you choose to send your child with home prepared meals please consider items the student can open on their own.  Staff will not be allowed to heat up or open any food items.

Classroom Set-Up – Students will be spaced 6-feet apart and all students will have their own individual desk and chair. Students will not share supplies and school supplies will be provided for each student.

School Supplies – 4J is providing all students with basic supplies, but families may also want to send students with extra masks and also a water bottle. The drinking fountains have all been turned off in 4J schools.

Recess – Students will get a daily 30-minute recess with their cohort group. Students will be allowed to play all the usual playground games, minus those where students would come within 6-feet of one another (i.e. soccer, basketball, etc.). Masks will continue to be worn at all times.
