Dear Awbrey Park Families,
The end of this year has been so challenging. Events going on in our country make it even more so. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the Awbrey Park Community trying to support our students and each other. I see our families going out of their way to help and assist others. Our parents, grandparents and guardians have been great role models for our students. These are the images our students will remember when they think back about this turbulent time. Thank you for being so caring and positive!
The school district will be cutting two furlough days. This will save about $1 million to help protect school days and programs for next school year. On furlough days employees do not work and are not paid by the district. The major change for families is that we are moving Transition day from June 5 to June 4. June 5 will now be a furlough day. Students will not have Zoom classes or Seesaw lessons on June 4 or 5.

- Transition Day (preparing students for next year) will be on June 4. There will not be any Zoom classes or Seesaw work for students.
- Last Zoom classes on June 8 & 9. All school (K-5) will do Zoom meetings on Monday & Tuesday of this week. The 5th grades Zoom meetings will be showing the end-of-the year slide show on Monday. We will send that link to 5th grade families. Each class will have their own final meeting on Tuesday.
- 5th Grade Drive Thru Promotion/Farewell: Tuesday, June 9 from 4:00-6:00. Fifth graders and their families can drive through the back of Awbrey Park and will be given an individual yard sign with their child’s name on it, special documents created for each student, reading medals, and a lei. 5th grade students can also return technology. The Drive Thru Promotion/Farewell will occur in our car lanes in the back of the school. Families can come anytime between 4:00-6:00.
- Technology return on June 10 from 10:00-3:00 and June 11 from 8-5:00. We really need families to return the iPads during these times.
- Families can pick up or return Kindergarten packets on during our Technology return. Please let any families in your neighborhood who have a Kinder for next year know about this.
- Awbrey Parade throughout our area at 6:30 on June 10. We will have a Tropical Theme for the parade. Dress up in Hawaiian shirts, leis, puka shells, pineapple hats, muumuus, etc. We will be driving the same route as we did last time. It is attached. We will continue to have lunches at Awbrey Park until June 29.
