Here is an article by one of our Student Council member about the Jog-A-Thon.
Dear Awbrey Park Families,
We had a great time at our 2015 jog-a-thon last week. We are very glad that the kids and some parents ran the track. We hope you all had a great time. While I was walking I had the chance to talk to some people, Alisha Woodruff, ”The jog-a-thon is a great time to earn money for your school.”  Michele Rodeen,”It gives kids a good time to exercise with their friends, also a good way to work together for a common goal.”  Kristen Heck, ”A good way to exercise with each other, also a good way to earn money for field trips.” Britney Clove,”You get to spend time, work together, and making money for your school.Yes, I have a lot of fun at the jog-a-thon.” Thats all the parents I talked to but I also talked to some Awbrey Park student. Heileigh said,” It was pretty cool, I definitely made my goal.” Nora said, “It was fun but I never want to run that much again.” Kelvin said, “Running is good exercise.” One of Awbrey Park staff members, Mrs.Jill said, ”It’s a good way to have fun together.” A big thanks to everyone who let me interview them. I hope all parents, teachers, kids, and grandparents had a great time.Thank you.
Sincerely yours,
Student Council Historian Writer,
Abigail Patton

Do you believe that your child may qualify for TAG (Talented and Gifted)?  Gifted and talented students are those whose abilities, talents, and potential for accomplishment are so exceptional or developmentally advanced that they require special services to meet their educational needs. Gifted and talented students are capable of high performance, exceptional production, or exceptional learning behavior by virtue of any or a combination of these areas:

  • Potential to Perform

For further information regarding TAG you can visit the 4j website at http://www.4j.lane.edu/instruction/tag/

At Awbrey Park, we will be testing for TAG during the week of December 7-11.  If you are interested in TAG testing for your child or further information please contact Kristen Gianforti (School Counselor/TAG coordinator).

Picture retakes are on November 10.  Students must bring back their old packet that they are not satisfied.  Students who were absent when pictures were originally taken will also be photographed.
