Awbrey Park Newsletter 04/26/2019

Dear Awbrey Park Families,
Thanks again to Katie Schnider and our wonderful PTO for putting on a fantastic Bingo Night. They were able to raise over $4,000 for our students. This has replaced our Mo’s Clam Fundraiser. Families had a great time winning prizes. There is nothing like watching kiddos scream “BINGO” at the top of their voice. Thanks Katie and the PTO!

The Book Fair will begin on Friday, April 26 and run through Thursday, May 2. It is a Buy One, Get One free fair, so everything in the fair is BOGO! New this year is eWallet. Parents and Guardians can go to our book fair website and choose the new digital payment so that your child won’t have to carry any cash.

We have moved the 12th Annual Awbrey Park Art Show to May 9, because of the ACE Awards. The Art Show donations will be a basket theme. We are asking families to donate a gift to their child’s classroom corresponding with that theme. Donated items should be new and gift cards are welcome. If you have something that would fit into another theme we are happy to add it to that basket. The baskets will be raffled off the night of the Art Show with proceeds going to support Art in the classroom.

Kindergarten-Outdoor Fun/Yard and Gardening
First Grade-Family Game Night/Yummy treats
Second Grade-Spa and Beauty/Chocolate
Third Grade-Cooking/Coffee
Fourth Grade-Sports/Camping
Fifth Grade-Home Decor/Arts and Crafts

Raffle tickets will be sold at the Art Show $1 each or 25 for $20. Thank you for supporting the Arts here at Awbrey!
Students will also be performing. This is very casual. We would love for students to get up and have fun singing with their friends. Students have been working on the song with Mrs. Yarbro in Music. Performance times are:

K/1 – 6:15pm
2/3 – 6:35pm
4/5 – 7:00pm

The ACE Awards are on May 2 from 5:30-7:00 at North Eugene High School. Every staff member member and volunteer goes out of their way to make a difference in the lives of our kids. Every staff member and volunteer could have been nominated for an ACE Award. Congratulations to all those who were nominated: Megan Hazelton, Joan Chu, Melody Fry, Jeremy Rutledge, Claire Smith, Kristen Gianforti, Sara Justice, Cathy Sullivan, and Mike Riplinger. Well done!

There will be no school on May 3 because it is a Transition Day for the district. This is where staff will be working together to plan for next year.
