Dear Awbrey Park Families

The Community Cultural Night was a huge success. We had over 500 people attend. It went along with our theme of building community at Awbrey Park. It was a night of great food, music, and poetry. The poems were priceless. Some made you laugh out loud. Others were so heart rendering as students wrote about losing love ones, divorce, and life’s challenges. It was a great reminder of how resilient our kids are. The music was great. Masha Telesheva and her dad were showstoppers as they played the Accordian. Our Kinders and 4th graders also shined. A special thanks to our photographers who took family portraits. You can check out the video on KMTR at Thanks to everyone for making the night so meaningful.

We have school visitations on:
January 28 9:00-10:00 am
January 29 12:00-1:00 pm
February 23 9:00-10:00 am
February 24 12:00-1:00 pm

Please RSVP and join the fun. Walk-ins are also welcome. We often get asked if kids can attend. The questioning and answering is geared toward parents. We are a kid-friendly place so they are welcome. We will have activities later that are orientated toward the children.

There will be no school on January 29 because this is a grading day. The Report Cards will go home in Monday Mailer on February 8.

Second semester, all 4J Schools have a change from PE to Music. Lisa Chinn will be going to YG/Corridor for the second semester. We are sooooooooooooooooooo going to miss her! Stacey Yarbro will be coming back to rock us with her Music expertise. Your child will have music twice a week. A difference this year is your child will also have one period of PE each week along with the music. Justine Delaine will be coming from Edison to teach PE for us.
