Dear Awbrey Park Families,

Get your Bull Dog Spirit Gear Here!

The Jog-A-Thon is Thursday.  This one of our only two fund-raiser for the year.  We can still use some help if you can volunteer.  Contact Lisel Hilson at hilsonfamily@live.  If there is any chance that you can come and cheer on your child–that would be great.  They love it when parents come by.  I understand when work gets in the way.  I miss events in my own child’s life because I can’t get away from work.  Here is the schedule for the Jog-A-Thon:

9:00-10:00–1st & 2nd Grade
10:30-11:30–3rd Grade
1:25-2:25–4th & 5th Grade

PTO is Monday at 6:00 in the Library.

Curriculum Night for K-2 grades is on Wednesday, Oct 7.

This is a great chance to meet your child’s teacher, get an idea of how the class runs, the best way to communicate with the teacher, and some key points of the curriculum. This night is for parents since the kids already know what is going on in the classes.

K-1 will run from 6:00—6:30. Parents will go right to the classroom for the teacher presentation. At 6:30, parents will go to the gym for a short presentation about our Title Reading program and school-wide Positive Behavior Support (PBIS) program.

2nd grade parents will come at 6:40 for the Title and PBIS program in the gym. They will go to the classroom at 7:00 for the teacher presentation.

We will have daycare. The number of children we can take is limited. If possible, children should stay home. If not, they will be in the cafeteria while their parents go to the different presentations.

We have a WayBack Burger fundraiser on Wednesday from 5:00-8:00.  This is one of our monthly get-togethers.  The goal on these are not so much to make money, but to give families an opportunity to get out and enjoy each and build our sense of Awbrey Park community.  FYI–their french fries sauce is great!  Much better than ketchup.

There is no school on Friday.  This is a state-wide inservice day.
